How is alphabeats different from Muse?
While Muse primarily focuses on meditation and mindfulness, alphabeats centers on performance training with music. Our sessions help you develop calm focus and sharpen cognitive skills through an engaging blend of music-neurofeedback, visuals, and games. While Muse provides only auditory feedback, alphabeats offers both auditory and interactive visual feedback. Is alphabeats only for athletes?
No! alphabeats is for everyone who wants to improve their mental game. Most of our research has been conducted with athletes but we know that you don’t have to actively compete in sports to be an athlete in your own field.

Can I use both Muse and BrainBit with the same alphabeats account?

No, while Muse and BrainBit has its unique data capabilities, alphabeats processes brainwave data uniformly to deliver a consistent neurofeedback experience, regardless of the headband used.
Technical Details
Which Muse headbands are compatible?
alphabeats currently supports the original Muse (MU-02), Muse 2 (MU-03) and Muse S models. The first Muse launched in 2014 (MU-01) is currently not supported. If you’re unsure about your device’s compatibility, please contact our support team.
Is data from the Muse headband shared with Muse or any third parties?
No, alphabeats adheres to strict data privacy standards (see our Privacy Policy). EEG data captured during alphabeats sessions is stored securely in compliance with data protection regulations and is not shared with Muse or third parties. Any data you share with Muse directly through their app is beyond our control and subject to Muse’s data privacy standards, as outlined in their Privacy Policy.
Will alphabeats and Muse data be combined to provide enhanced insights?
Currently, alphabeats processes data independently from Muse to deliver targeted neurofeedback insights. Your brainwave activity data remains secure and private within the alphabeats ecosystem. If this changes, we will update our policies accordingly and inform our users.
Do I need to update the alphabeats app to make it compatible with Muse?
Yes, please ensure that your alphabeats app is updated to the latest version to enable Muse compatibility. App compatibility with Muse is available from November 29, 2024.
Is the alphabeats app available for both iOS and Android?
Yes, our Muse-compatible app will be available on both iOS and Android through the official App Store and Google Play Store. The app is supported on most modern iPhones and Android phones. Please note that for Android, we require version 13 or higher. Any version below 13 is not supported.
